Owen Brown

Credentials: Academic Match Program Coordinator


Owen is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering. He is from Dallas, Texas and loves being outdoors in the nicer Madison weather. He enjoys spending time with his dogs, working on various engineering projects, and participating in sports and other outdoor activities. Owen is looking forward to getting to know all the tutors who will be working within the Academic Match program this year.

Jack is a Junior studying Linguistics with a concentration in Arabic and Spanish. Before becoming a Conversational English Program Coordinator, he worked for two years in Eagle Heights as an English Language Tutor. One of his favorite hobbies is collecting stamps and sending postcards!

Elsa Debargue

Credentials: World Language Learners Coordinator


Elsa is currently a senior double majoring in International Studies and Spanish as well as earning certificates in Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS), Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies (REECAS), and European Studies. She enjoys her role as the World Language Learners Coordinator since it enables her to interact with students from all around the globe. In her free time, Elsa enjoys baking, reading, and meeting new people.

Saket Dhore

Credentials: General Study Skills Coordinator


Saket is a passionate junior majoring in Computer Science and Data Science. He loves helping others excel in academics and enjoys playing chess and cheering for Manchester United in his free time. He’s a friendly and approachable companion for any tech, sports, or study-related discussions.

Caitlin Farrell Haven

Credentials: Assistant Director of Learning Support


Caitlin works closely with Greater University Tutoring Services (GUTS) and is excited to work with student staff and campus partners to provide high quality academic, study skill, and language support to UW-Madison students. Prior to this role, Caitlin was an access consultant at the McBurney Disability Resource Center and taught special education and social studies at a Madison-area high school. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys yoga, hiking, volleyball, and spending time with family.

Fiona Finger

Credentials: Conversational English Coordinator


Fiona is a junior studying psychology & Spanish. She teaches ballet at a local studio, enjoys going on runs through campus, and traveling. She also just returned from studying abroad in Granada, Spain and is excited to work within the language field. She likes learning more about the language acquisition process and is looking forward to seeing students engage with language practice.

Abbigail Hickman

Credentials: Operations Coordinator


Abbigail is a junior studying International Studies on the Global Security track. In addition to her role with GUTS as Operations Coordinator, Abbigail works as an Academic Mentor and Academic Mentor Assistant for the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE). In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing Mario Party with friends, and hanging out with her roommate’s cat.

Cindy Huang

Credentials: World Language Learners Program Coordinator


Cindy is currently a junior double-majoring in Legal Studies and Political Science. As a bilingual speaker, she is eagerly looking forward to connecting with fellow students who share an interest in exploring a new language!

Alyssa Kimmel

Credentials: Drop-In Tutoring Coordinator


Alyssa is a Junior majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in ESL, and is working towards certificates in Education Policy and Disability Rights and Services. She is excited to be a part of the GUTS team as the Drop-in Program Coordinator. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends/family, being outdoors, listening to music, and finding new books to read!

McKenna Laurent

Credentials: Senior Coordinator for Academic Programs

Mckenna is a Junior studying English Literature with a certificate in Education & Educational Studies. Mckenna is also a writer and editor for Wisconsin’s HerCampus online magazine. She spends her free time reading, going on walks, and listening to Taylor Swift. She is excited to work with our Drop-in and Academic Match programs to make sure students have the support they need to succeed!

Naman Parekh

Naman is currently a junior double majoring in Computer Science & Data Science with a certificate in Economics. In his free time, he likes to watch football (FC Barcelona is the best team of all time!), play table tennis and watch movies. He is eagerly looking forward to getting to know all the tutors and staff for this year!

Chongjing Zhou

Chongjing is a junior majoring in Psychology. As an international student, she loves to communicate with people from all backgrounds. She is excited to work at GUTS because she wants to help more students access their ideal tutoring services. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching movies, spending time with her cats and hanging out with friends and family.
